Alavi Health Institute
The Alavi Health Institute was established to improve healthcare access for underprivileged populations and acts as the health arm of the Alavi Foundation. Its key programs include:
Enhancing the Health of the Underprivileged in Iran (ESMA)
The Alavi Foundation, within the framework of higher-order policies and in fulfillment of its mission to enhance the health of the underprivileged—emphasizing preventive measures and addressing critical bottlenecks—has adopted the “Executive By-law for Promoting the Health of Iran’s Underprivileged,” abbreviated as ESMA, as its roadmap.
This by-law serves as an operational guide for health sector implementers and stakeholders. It outlines a variety of executive strategies that help identify and meet the needs of the target population. Through active social participation, empowerment of volunteer (jihadi) groups, and collaboration with community-based organizations, it facilitates the improvement of health standards and access to appropriate healthcare and medical services for residents of deprived and rural areas.

Major Completed Plans and Projects
Health promotion programs at the Alavi Foundation began in 2008 with maternal health initiatives in cooperation with the Office for Nutrition Health Improvement, Deputy, Ministry of Health and Medical Education. The foundation has since implemented a broad range of programs, including establishing and equipping health centers and ensuring food security in underprivileged areas.
